A relationship between two people, one is the client and the other the counsellor. The counselling relationship is an intimate one, offering the client space to explore themselves in an open and non-judgemental environment.

Who is counselling for?
Anyone, who is facing a difficult time in his or her lives and is struggling to find a way forward. Perhaps you have had an experience in your life that has been painful and you can’t seem to get over it. Or maybe you are struggling to cope at work with the pressures of your workload. Your relationship may have broken down and you find that it’s left you feeling bad about yourself in someway. There are lots of reasons why someone may wish to see a counsellor, usually it is because they are feeling stuck and unable to move forward in their lives. If you have been experiencing feelings like this, then perhaps Counselling will work for you.
Does a counsellor work with specific problems?
Some counsellors choose to specialise with specific problems, such as eating disorders or drug or alcohol misuse. Reading my information you can see that initially I chose to specialise with women’s issues. However moving on in my professional experience I feel I specialise in people and not problems. So the focus would be on whether the client and counsellor can build a relationship conducive to working closely together on issues presenting.
How much will it cost me?
For the initial session, which will last approximately 30-45 minutes, the cost will be £20 for every hourly session following that the cost will be £25. (See cost converter for prices outside of the UK)
